Our trip to Gayle's house - my friend who said she had lots of stuff to give me - proved to be quite a haul!!
And she wasn't lyin'... there was LOTS of stuff!! Probably at least half of a garage space full of baby stuff! She was so generous! We came away with a crib (with matress and bedding included), a bassinet, a car seat/stroller combo, a Baby Björn carrier, an infant tub, and bags and bags... and
bags of clothes!! Brent's pickup was filled to the brim with all these goodies! We even had to shove some things behind our seats inside the cab! So, if we didn't feel prepared for a new baby before... there certainly is evidence that a baby's on the way now!! Our friends, Brian and Jamie, came
over to help us sort through and make sense of it all. Talk about a productive day!! Brent went down to the basement to consolidate things and make room for more storage. The guys took the doors off the closet to make more open space for baby items and then they took all the stuff that we had stacked in that closet to the basement. Can you believe we can actually still get around down there?!? They did a
great job!! All the while, we girls were going through those bags galore, pulling out clothes and separating them into size categories. Then we realized that we needed the guys to go buy storage totes for all the different sizes and to go ahead and grab lunch for all of us while they were out. ;) By the time we got done sorting,
Jamie said, "This kiddo will be set with a full wardrobe through the age of 4!!" And it's true!! We literally had one tote for each size: 3-6 month, 6-12 month, 12-18 month, 18-24 month, 2T, 3T, and 4T! I kept all the preemie/ newborn/ 0-3 month items out so that we could wash them and get them ready for day of arrival. Now we just have to go back over our What-We-Need-For-Baby List and update our registries. I think we also have to schedule a car seat check with the hospital to make sure we're good to go. This certainly is quite an experience! I'd have to say, the coolest part of it all is feeling this little one moving around inside of me. I love that. It makes this other stuff: cleaning, sorting, rearranging, etc... all worth-while!
