Belly Weeks 13-15

Belly week 13 - Other notes: Mood swings? Have I even had any?? I should ask Brent... :) I guess I have been crying more than usual. 7/16/08

Belly week 14 - Notes: ~I really should start taking some pics of my belly. Perhaps today?! ~I'm still feeling kinda icky in the a.m. - I'm hoping that tapers off soon. ~Waking up at least 3 times a night to pee. ~Tend to feel ravenously hungry when I wake up in the middle of the night! 7/23/08

Belly week 15 - More welcome and/or not-so-welcome changes of late: Seem to be feeling more gassy than usual. Also, I think some heartburn has kicked in. 7/30/08

I Get A Kick Outta You... (part 1)

Already?

Week that I first felt you fluttering in my belly: I think I've felt you flutter already. I'm not too sure though. I suppose it could've been a gas bubble. And I think it was just a few days ago... if it really was you. I can't wait to know for sure!

A description of this new sensation: Like there's a butterfly in there... or kinda like what a muscle spasm feels like.

There are more questions on this page of my journal... but I can't answer them until I know for sure that it's the baby I'm feeling... :)

Boy or Girl??

To know or not to know...

Everyone thinks you are: I'd say it's about half and half... some say "girl" and some say "boy"... and some say that we should have a boy or that we'd be good with boys. (Shrug) Like it's up to us anyway. We'll leave that up to the Creator of all life. And either way, we'll love and cherish this gift from God.

Personally, we think you are: A girl. We both kinda figure that, since girls appear to be the dominant gender in each of our families, we'll end up having girls.

My thoughts about finding out if you are a girl or boy before you are born: At first I thought I'd be fine either way... who doesn't love a surprise, right? Then Brent said he wants to know... and now that I think about it, it'd be nice to know. That way we can call you by name instead of just "peanut" or whatever produce item you happen to be as big as this week. :) It would be nice to have a color scheme picked out, too.

The conclusion: Yeah, we'll be finding out... if you'll show us. ;D

Au Revoir, Jeans...

Au Revoir, any semblance of a waist!

I'm starting to feel like:
a) A fertility goddess
b) Humpty Dumpty... definitely this one.

More thoughts about getting big: At this point, I'm ready to start showing! I'm still wearing my regular clothes though. They're getting more and more snug... but I'm not quite ready for maternity clothes. Wonder how long that'll last?

My exercise regime: When I'm not feeling ill, I love to go on walks with my honey! But nausea and fatigue have gotten in the way on more than a few occasions. Ugh.

Belly Week 12

Belly week 12 - This week marks the end of my 1st trimester - Reflections: I officially welcomed the start of my 2nd trimester on 7/11 by calling my husband in tears over something that happened at work. I don't think he really knew what to do or say to make it better so, after a while, we just said goodbye. But then he called me back to talk things through and he tried to make me laugh (he's pretty good at that). I really did feel better after talking with him that time.
Now we can tell everyone else: Yeah, we pretty much told everyone by 8 weeks. :) 7/9/08

My Second OB Visit/ First Ultrasound

This visit was with the Nurse Practitioner (Velma) who also did my very 1st Ultrasound today! It was amazing to see our little one on the monitor... moving around a lot! And we saw the heart flutter! Velma said the heartbeat was a healthy 171 bpm. Some of our friends had mentioned that we might be able to hear the heartbeat at this visit but Velma didn't have the doppler on hand, so we couldn't. :( Maybe next time. The estimated size of baby today is 1.5" long (about the size of a fig). It just looked like a little peanut on the Ultrasound monitor though. However, Brent doesn't like when I call it a peanut... he said it sounds too much like penis "... and what if it's a girl?" ;) 7/3/08

We had planned to go home on Monday but then changed plans to include a detour to Roseburg to see Brent's folks. 6/18/08
