Pictures.
I'm lovin' just gettin' out the camera to take pictures of my boy! Overboard? I think not! ;) He's just so darn cute... how can I not take several pictures a day!?! Thank goodness for digital cameras! It'd be scary to see how many rolls and rolls of film I'd have to develop! :D Anyway, here's a collage today's photo shoot:

Swingin'
... and likin' it better... or, at least, he'll tolerate it for a longer period of time. He watches the little animals go around on the mobile. Today, I decided to hang some links on one of the animals so he'd have something within reach to grab hold of. I didn't know if he'd actually grab it or not. I kinda thought not. But he did! Yay for Mac! Gettin' that eye-hand coordination down! ☺

Question?
Mac has been cracking us up with his arm in the air. I'm not sure if all babies do this... but he'll just hold it there forever! It's the funniest thing. Brent's been known to do that on occasion too. Not while eating, of course. But while lying in bed... for some reason, he'll have his arm in the air. Reflex? Or hereditary? You decide. Anyway, he did it again when I was feeding him today. Our little cutey patooty!

Yummy Fingers!
Nothin' like lyin' in bed gnawin' on fingers! Yummers! I guess sometimes not even the binky will cut it. I suppose it's a good thing when the wee one can kind of comfort himself tho'. The only recommendation I have: Pray they don't gnaw too hard or you might encounter siren-like screams. Poor li'l dude.
Growin' Boy!
Welp, so much for these pants! And they're not just short... they're tight, too! I just had to get a picture of Mac wearing them one last time before I retire them to the tote of "keepers" - just in case we have another boy. You know. ;) The brown pants that I put on him weren't that different as far as length goes. They just fit better around the waist. I have a feeling I'm going to need to break out the 3-6 month clothing items pretty soon! :)

12 Weeks Old
Again, no pics... I think I've been going through a photographic dry spell these last couple of weeks! I'm sure part of it is due to the fact that I've been working again. Not only did I work last Friday... but also Monday, Tuesday and today. I could've worked on the 19th and 26th but couldn't find anyone to watch Mac on those days. Oh well. Nothing too noteworthy today... just wanted to wish Mac a Happy 12 weeks! :)

11 Weeks Old
I guess I haven't been doing that great with keeping up on photo-taking. I don't have any 11 week pictures of you! I'm so bummed! But you're doing great! Gettin' so big and tall and strong! On a random note: today is the first day of spring! And I worked today (first time back) while your dad looked after you. How fun for you to spend the day with dad! And it was actually kinda nice for me to get out of the house for a while. I'm so glad your dad was able to be home with you though... it woulda been 10 times harder leaving you with someone else!

It's Our 8th Anniversary!
I can't believe I didn't get any pictures today!! Mac was dressed in his cute green froggy outfit and, as an anniversary surprise, I made green Rice Krispy Treats and took them to Brent at his office! But not one picture of any of it! Darn. Oh well. It was a fun day anyway. :) So ~
Happy 8th Anniversary, Babe!!
And to everyone else ~
Happy St. Patrick's Day!! :)

First Real Babysitting Experience!
It's time for a break. Finally. With our anniversary coming up, Stephanie offered to watch Mac for the evening so we could celebrate! And actually, the first time we 'tried' to let Steph watch Mac was on Super Bowl Sunday (Feb 1st). But we got to her place then ended up staying the whole time! It was hard for me to leave him! So we had a make-shift Super Bowl party when Derek got home and had fun anyway. Then the following Sunday, we tried again. We were able to leave him for about an hour, if that, to go have lunch... but we hurried back to get him. I know. We're so silly! I should mention that Steph has 3 kiddos of her own... so she's very capable when it comes to babies! Must just be my 'new mom' paranoia. But tonight, finally, we felt good about going out on a 3+ hour date and had some fun US time! It was soooo nice! And when we got back to Steph's place, Mac was sleeping. She had noticed that my camera was in the diaper bag so she even took a couple photos of him hangin' out there. Fun! Thanks Stephanie! ☺

Hangin' With Dad Again

9 Weeks Old
Happy 9 weeks, Mac! You're gettin' bigger every day! And today, you actually gave a gift to me!! And, no. This has nothing to do with your diaper! ;) You hadn't really been likin' your swing too much... even from the very beginning. But I went ahead and set you in there again to see if you'd like it this time. Sometimes, these things just take a little gettin' used to. In fact, I was already mostly resolved to taking the silly thing back to buy something a bit more useful. But this time? YOU LIKED IT! At least you liked it enough to fall asleep in it! Yay for MacG! Maybe we'll keep this thing after all. See? It's not so bad. ;) Although, I suppose your sleepiness could be a result of the Dr visit you had today. We'll try it again another day sans shots and meds.
2 Month Dr Visit
Another Dr appt today. This was his first visit with shots. Ooo. Not good. He's a screamer! But it's the first set of many more shots to come. Yay me. :\ So, here's what happens: We check in, he gets called back, he gets weighed and measured, the Dr comes in the room to check him over and answer any questions we may have, and then the 'fun'... the nurse comes in to give the shots. Anyway, today he was 12 lbs, 7 oz. And just under 23" long. The nurse figures it out on his growth chart and lets us know: 75th percentile for weight and 50th percentile for height. He's our little average joe. ;) Head circumference is 40.75 cm. After the appt, once he's calmed down, we of course have to take him around the office to let everyone see him. We couldn't stay long though 'cause daddy still had to get back to work. Mac slept for the car ride home and for a long time even after we got home. He got unusually fussy around 3pm so I gave him some baby Tylenol. We'll see how the rest of the night goes. Hopefully he won't get rashy or feverish from those shots... I've heard that can happen.

Yay for Bath Time!
We finally got some decent bath time pictures where Mac's not screaming! Yay! In fact, I think he's starting to really enjoy baths. It's taken a couple months to figure out what works best... where parents and baby are calm, comfortable and confident in what's going on. Mommy realized that she needs to keep a light, cheerful attitude and demeanor - so lots of smiles and praise for Mac! We also go over the parts of the body that are being washed. Next thing you know, we're all done and it's time to get wrapped up in the towel to dry off! I probably should've gotten at least one commemorative picture of Mac screaming in the tub... but it made the whole bathing experience so nerve-wracking, I couldn't bring myself to do it! So, here are today's bath pictures:

Walk Time!
Daddy has the day off today so we've decided to go for a walk. How fun! Since we don't have the stroller up and running quite yet, we'll have to use the Baby Björn for the 1st time ever! Not too shabby! I think daddy kinda likes it. It's just a matter of getting Mac all bundled up since it's still pretty chilly outside. Gotta say. He looks quite warm! Actually, they both do. Now we're gonna go say 'hi' to the NNU Social Work dept. Good times! And before I forget... Happy 2 month birthday, Mac!! ☺

Floor Time With Daddy
Mac doesn't really care for tummy time yet. We'll set him on his belly and
get down there with
him on his level and he still cries after about 5 minutes! And if we don't pick him up right away, those cries turn into red-faced screams in no time flat!! It's kinda funny... he'll sleep on his tummy - no problem - but he doesn't like to just hang out and play on his belly. Silly little guy. I hope he starts liking tummy time soon. He's eventually gotta learn how to roll over and such.
Although, I suppose they'll do that when they're good and ready to, yeah? Well, this evening daddy got down on the floor with Mac and just sat and played with a couple toys. That's a good start! And, apparently, he got so tuckered out doing that, he ended up falling asleep - on his belly - on dad's chest! Again, silly little guy!
