I'm Thinking...

... I may start writing again. Either here, or on my other blog, I'm not sure which yet. I'd like to do a little journaling about my weight-loss journey... that might be better on the other site. And I guess I'll keep stories about Mac and family life here, in this blog.

Well, getting right down to it... I found out today that Mac somehow figured out how to erase all the game files on our Super Paper Mario Wii game!! Grr. He's now grounded from playing Wii games until further notice. >:\ He keeps asking to play. And I keep reminding him why he can't. He says "Okay." but I don't think he really gets it. Thankful that daddy is home now and can keep him distracted by playing cars and trains with him in his room. :)

Also, Mac still says 'lettow' for the word 'yellow'... he's actually said it that way for as long as I can remember. It's kinda cute. Well... until he wants the big 'lettow' item and I hand him the little red item. Yeah, it can get confusing... but he'll learn it eventually. Although, it's kinda funny that he can say the letter 'W' with no problems but he can't say 'yellow'.

I think we've gained a family member since I've last written. We now have a dog. Her name is Luci. She's about 14 months old and is FULL of energy! When we walk in the front door, sometimes we'll yell, "Luuuciii, I'm home!" ;) And lately, Mac will randomly say, "I love Luci!" It's cute. And he's never seen the show!

Some fun things we've done this summer:
1) Gone to the park. (Several times!)
2) Played in our little pool in the backyard. (Luci especially loves that!)
3) Saw Madagascar 3 in 3D at the theater. (Mac slept through half of it!)
4) Went bowling.
5) Stood under a Fire Truck sprinkler.
6) Played with friends: Nathan and Shaelyn
7) Played under the card table tent that G'ma Jackson made!

Some things Mac likes:
1) Puzzles
2) Coloring
3) Thomas the Train
4) Spongebob Squarepants
5) Taking pictures
6) Cars (The movies and the toys)
7) Superheros (i.e. Spiderman, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Black Panther, Green Lantern, Batman, etc.)
8) VeggieTales (Although, he's been listening to music cd's more than watching the movies lately.)
9) Mario Bros games

We're not sure whether he'll be Thomas for Halloween again this year, or if he'll go with Mario, or Bob the Tomato... it's a toss-up... but we'll get it figured out. :)

Weather has been quite hot this summer. High 90's and even into the 100's for several days! There have been fires all around us, so it's been smokey too. Yuck. But we're surviving. Autumn is on it's way! Can't wait!

Really???

It's now June, which means: I haven't done anything on here in months!! Ah well. Am I gonna beat myself up over it? Nah. I guess that's what I like so much about facebook... the opportunity to "blog" as much or as little as you'd like via that little box which probes, "What's on your mind..." Some days, chasing after a 2-year-old is quite enough, thank you. On those days, you won't hear much from me. On those days, the pitter-patter of little feet thoroughly compensates for the pitter-patter of thoughts frolicking through the wide open fields of my mind. :) Not to say that I'm an air-head, mind you...

Anyhoo.

Just thought I'd ramble about my latest undertaking: Babysitting. Or perhaps toddler-sitting would be more accurate. In a full-time sort of way. (Through the summer anyway.) Yep. Upon figuring the numbers, I'll be watching another 2-year-old for 40 whole hours a week! Because, apparently, I didn't think one 2-year-old was sufficient for my sanity... or lack thereof. So. All that to say: If it's currently been 3 months since my last post, during which time I've only had one toddler on the loose... it's pretty safe to say that blogging may very well be nonexistent this summer. Unless, of course, I find that this is the one thing that keeps me sane. :) I guess we'll see...

It's Been A While, I Know.

I think I might be ready to join the blogging bandwagon again... Not only is it a great creative outlet for me but I'm realizing that it helps me enormously in keeping track of Mac's growing up: from the smallest of accomplishments to the hugest milestones! (Not to mention keeping my typing accuracy in the "above average" range!) I'm not sure if I'll try to "catch up" or not... I'm thinking 6 months (or more?) might be a little much to worry about... but we'll see. For now, it's just good to be back!

Farewell ~Life, Laughter & Lego Lions~!

Ladies and Gentlemen, there's been a merger. There are 4 blogs on my dashboard... 3 of which are unproductive. And one of those 3 unproductive blogs gets tons of spam. I'm not completely sure as to why. But it was on one post in particular where I used some initials that may somehow be associated with those of the homosexual persuasion. Mind you, my post had absolutely nothing to do with those fine folks. But apparently, other folks who may have been searching for information regarding that topic were being directed to my blog. In short, those searching would leave tactless comments I didn't care to read or respond to. So. I removed those initials from that post and have now merged that blog with this one. And I intend to delete that blog once I have posted this.

I'm a little sad that it's come to this. The unproductiveness and deletion, that is. It was a fun blog that I started back in 2006 after my sister and her kiddos moved into town. Before that, it had been 8 years since we had lived in the same state, let alone the same town! And, even though she was going through some extremely hard times emotionally, I was glad to have her close-by again. I was glad I could be there for her and the kids.

So that's why there are now a few posts from 2006 in my archive. (Obviously before my pregnancy-turned-baby-turned-toddler.) :D I didn't want to lose what I had written during that time. I do, however, want to leave you with the paragraph that I had written in the "description" section under the title of my blog:
Lego Lion Philosophy: We may appear ferocious but, really, we're fragile. Even though we look fairly massive, we're still quite malleable. And oftentimes we're loud... but we just want to be loved.
And there you have it. It's all about the love, isn't it?
Cheers.
